Cupcakes, Toddlers and Sketch Journaling
It's often hard to find extra time in our days, weeks or months. Everyone is so busy. I needed a creative outlet. I was having a hard time remembering details of special events because we so often move onto the next event (I know we are not the only ones).
Documenting is good for the soul.
It's shocking how much we actually do in a day, if you take anything from this post; jot down a few key things from everyday. I make a bullet list of them.
I have always been into illustrating, but haven't taken it anywhere besides a few commissions and for my personal outlet. I did some research and realized I could kill two birds with one stone; journal my life and illustrate. This way I get more practice and focus on my life.
A quick look into the process:
- Buy the perfect journal, I got the 5 1/2" square handbook by Journal.co, seriously don't need to buy a new book, I just like fresh supplies when I start something new (it's a problem)
- Sketch with Micron pens
- Watercolor set (doesn't need to be an expensive set, crayola makes some great ones)
- Take pics
- Post pics on instagram
